(Disclaimer: The following questions were taken directly from reader emails and answered by Kresley Cole.)
Do the books in the series have to be read in order?
No, they are all stand-alone. But if you want to read in order, the series installments are
1. "The Warlord Wants Forever" a novella in PLAYING EASY TO GET Feb 2006
2. A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER April 2006
3. NO REST FOR THE WICKED Halloween 2006
4. WICKED DEEDS ON A WINTER'S NIGHT Halloween 2007
5. DARK NEEDS AT NIGHT'S EDGE May 2008
6. DARK DESIRES AFTER DUSK June 2008
7. KISS OF A DEMON KING February 2009
8. "Untouchable" a novel in DEEP KISS OF WINTER (a duology with Gena Showalter) (Murdoch and Daniela's Story) October 2009
9. PLEASURE OF A DARK PRINCE (Lucia and Garreth's book) January 2010
What is planned in the Immortals After Dark Series in 2009?
I'll have one full-length release and a long novella. KISS OF A DEMON KING came out in February, and Murdoch and Daniela's story will follow in the October duology DEEP KISS OF WINTER.
How many IAD books will there be?
After 2009, there will be at least four more full-length novels (including PLEASURE OF A DARK PRINCE in Jan 2010). I have a dozen plotted out, so I'm ready for more if you are!
Where can I go to find out more about the series?
The forum is a wonderful resource! The highlights section has an organized list of over 100 FAQs and posts from Kresley about the series.
Why are all these events with the different factions of the Lore happening now?
Because the Accession (found in the Lore glossary) brings these factions together every five hundred years and is occurring right now. In Hunger, it's described as: "Bringing prosperity and power to the victors, the Accession wasn't an Armageddon type of war--it wasn't as if the strongest factions of the Lore met on neutral turf after an invitation to 'rumble.' About a decade into it, events began to come into play, as if fate was seeding future deadly conflicts, involving all the players at a startling rate. Like windmill vanes on a rusted spoke, it began creaking, creeping to life, only to gain momentum and soar with speed every five hundred years."
Wroth and Myst never met before because Wroth and his brothers weren't turned or even born that long ago. The catalyst that brings Myst and Wroth together is a vampire battle (and these big battles usually occur around the Accession) and because Myst and her sisters decided to spy on Ivo when they sense he's up to something--which he was in order to try to win the Accession.
These events will continue to build on each other, sparking even more events:

These events will continue to build on each other, sparking even more events:
- Murdoch Wroth will meet his Valkyrie heroine because he follows Nikolai to New Orleans.
- With Lucia and Garreth: Garreth had only, over the last couple of decades, begun to live in New Orleans, the city where she lives, so those two met briefly but were brought together more because of Emma and Lachlain.
- Kristoff, the new vampire king is guilt-stricken over Furie's fate at the bottom of the ocean, but he's so busy fighting the Horde that his hands are tied to do anything. Events from A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER make it possible for Kristoff to begin searching relentlessly for her. So Furie will rise in time with the Accession.
- And don't forget that Regin's Berserker hero reincarnates in time with the Accession, so he will be returning now.
