Okay…I just read the new excerpt for the story “Untouchable”, which will be released in the Duology Deep Kiss of Winter in December.
Let me tell you…I have been waiting ever so patiently for this story since we were first introduced to both of the main characters, Murdoch Wroth and Daniela the Ice Maiden, in the FIRST damned book!
Yes…that was seven books ago.
I am SO excited for this book…even more so now that I have read the excerpt.
Here’s why:
1. So far, I have fallen in love with every other Wroth brother…for different reasons. Nikolai is just so scrumptiously sexy. He is so regal, level-headed and deliciously prime. But yet when Myst enters his world, he looses his ever impenetrable composure and becomes animalistic and savage.
On the flip side, Conrad was vicious, brutal and unmerciful (which in and of itself is sexy). But when Néomi becomes a part of his life he struggles to be calm and gentle just for her and shows us that he is full of passion and decency.
Then there’s Sebastian. Bastian IS patience, intelligence and charm. The amazing thing about Sebastian was that we saw little growth in him throughout his story, but he influenced Kaderin in such an enormous way. He was one of the only characters so far in the series that didn’t fight his love for Kaderin. He knew from the moment he saw her that she belonged to him and despite the obvious set-backs to their relationship, refused to be without her.
So now we are left with Murdoch, who has remained such a huge mystery throughout the series. What do we know about him? We know that when he was human, he was very…busy…with women and that since he was changed into a vampire he is very dutiful and loyal. He seems cocky yet very intriguing.
He’s such a mystery to me at this point. But I know that if Kresley could make me fall in love with Conrad who was absolutely demented, then I know she has something special in store for us with Murdoch.
2. The Valkyrie are a phenomenal set of characters. They are ruthless and kick-ass…and women. What else could you ask for? But of course, there are always characters that are so different from the others that we just need to know more about them. Daniela is one of those characters for me.
From the little interaction we have had with her in previous books, my heart has always ached for her. I’ve never doubted that she is loved dearly by her Valkyrie brethren, but I can only imagine what it must be like for her to not be able to touch or be touched by anyone. How lonely it must be. And I’ve always imagined her as being so sheltered and timid, but now, after reading the book excerpt, I can see that she is much more like her Valkyrie sisters than I anticipated.
So…here’s the question of the hour.
How?
How could Murdoch and Daniela ever be together when she cannot touch or be touched without experiencing excruciating pain?
~inhales deeply and slowly expels breath~ I don’t know…but I damned well need to know!!! ~pouts~ I can’t wait until September to find out…
Oh! And by the way…for those of you who haven’t read the excerpt, do it. Talk about a cliff-hanger. I literally got chills after reading the very last word. If you haven’t already read the excerpt, mayhaps this will inspire you to do so. ~grins~

Her gaze held Murdoch's, and she weakly extended her small hand. With tears running from her silvery eyes, she spoke, a whisper directed to him, loud above all sounds.
